Welcome to BeCURE
BeCURE brings together scientists, clinicians, social researchers, and community partners to move HIV cure research forward.
We see cure research as one connected effort, not separate tracks. A discovery in the lab matters only when it reaches people. Clinical research only works when it reflects real needs, meaning science stays relevant only when affected communities shape the questions being asked.
Based in Berlin, BeCURE creates the space for these collaborations to happen, turning scientific insight into research that is ambitious, relevant and built to achieve real-world impact.
Basic Science
Even with effective treatment, some viruses stay in the body. We study how they persist at the molecular level and how to clear them for remission or cure
Clinical Research
Bringing scientific discoveries to patients through clinical trials that test how new cure strategies can be used safely and effectively.
Social & Behavioural Sciences
Cure research asks real things of the people who take part. We study what people are willing to try, what risks they accept, and how trials can translate into care, so the science fits people’s lives.
Community Engagement
Working with communities as partners help us define research priorities, improve trust, and make sure the work stays accountable to the people it affects.
HIV cure research is one of the hardest challenges in medical research. It cannot be solved by one lab, one clinic, or one discipline alone. BeCURE was built to connect the people and expertise this challenges needs: from basic science to clinical application, from social realities to community priorities.
Our goal is to make cure research effective and more relevant to the lives of people it is meant to serve.
